The pleasure here is the contrast between the house and everything that has been added around it. You move from an 1888 villa with fireplaces and old tiled floors into a bright NUXE spa, heated pool and terrace facing the Mediterranean.
Hotel description
Opposite the little harbour of Banyuls-sur-Mer, Villa Camille brings an elegant 1888 villa back to life between the Mediterranean and the foothills of the Pyrenees. Red-and-white stripes, toile de Jouy and a slightly playful bourgeois mood give the interiors plenty of character, while the port-facing terrace and NUXE spa keep the sea firmly part of the stay. Start with a walk to Fontaulé Beach, spend the afternoon between the heated pool and sauna, then settle onto the terrace for cocktails as the boats come back into harbour. Banyuls is small enough to explore almost entirely on foot, with vineyards, swimming and the Côte Vermeille all close by. This is best for travellers who want a proper seaside town around them rather than an isolated coastal resort.
