César Lanzarote is a 20-room, adults-only retreat in La Asomada, surrounded by vineyards and volcanic landscape with views towards the Atlantic. The restored historic property was formerly a Manrique family home, with Vogue identifying it specifically as the former house of Gumersindo Manrique, César Manrique's father. Interiors combine whitewashed architecture, volcanic stone, green woodwork and locally influenced design without turning the property into a Manrique-themed hotel. Days are largely lived outside. There is a large curving heated pool, sheltered stone lounging spaces, an outdoor gym, yoga on request, massages, gardens and terraces facing sea and volcanoes. César Restaurant, the Sunset Bar and a newer Pool Restaurant mean there is little reason to rush elsewhere, although La Geria, Timanfaya and the coast are all easily reached by car.
