Why we picked this hotel
The architecture alone makes Perma worth the journey, with five stone-built retreats disappearing into the Serifos hillside, each with its own pool and uninterrupted Aegean views.
Hotel description
Perma Serifos is a five-suite retreat built into a rocky hillside near Lia Beach, with architecture by MOLD Architects. Reclaimed and locally sourced stone, concrete, planted roofs and broad terraces help the low-slung buildings disappear into the landscape, while minimal window frames keep the Aegean constantly in view. The experience is intentionally private. Each suite or residence has its own pool and outdoor kitchen, breakfast is served daily, and massages, yoga, sound healing, private dining and island experiences can all be arranged. Lia Beach is a short walk below, while Livadi and Chora are both a short drive away.
Hotel location

This is great
Architecture disappears into the hillside
MOLD Architects embedded the retreat into the rocky slope using excavated stone, concrete, planted roofs and broad terraces rather than Cycladic white cubes.
Every stay comes with a pool
All five suites and residences have private swimming pools, sea-facing outdoor space and their own outdoor cooking facilities.
There are only five accommodations
Two suites and three residences keep Perma closer to a private coastal retreat than a conventional island hotel.
Breakfast stays rooted in Serifos
Fresh fruit, artisan cheeses and local breads shape the daily breakfast, with guests repeatedly praising its quality and care.
Wellness comes to the guest
Massages, yoga, sound healing and wellbeing coaching are arranged on site, with a dedicated yoga shala also used for retreats.
Two beaches sit below the property
Kolibithra is around 150 metres away off-road, with Lia approximately 400 metres from Perma.
Our take on the stay
With only five places to stay, each with a private pool, outdoor kitchen and huge terrace, Perma offers the privacy of a villa with the service of a small hotel.

About the destination
Serifos, Greece
Serifos is one of the Cyclades’ quieter islands, shaped by rugged hills, whitewashed villages, and secluded beaches with clear Aegean waters. Its hilltop capital, Chora, overlooks a coastline dotted with small bays and traditional seaside tavernas, while much of the island remains beautifully undeveloped. Perma Serifos is set within this wild landscape, offering a peaceful retreat closely connected to the island’s natural surroundings.
