Why we picked this hotel
Tuba has worked out that when the Mediterranean is directly below you, very little else is required. Eight rooms, genuinely good food, mattresses on the rocks and a reason to swim before breakfast make the whole stay feel wonderfully uncomplicated.
Hotel description
Tuba Club Marseille is a tiny seaside hideaway set on the rocky coast of Les Goudes, a small fishing village on the edge of Marseille. Once a diving club, it has been transformed into a relaxed, design-driven spot with only a few cabanon-style rooms overlooking the water. The atmosphere is simple, creative and full of character, with wooden textures, sea views and a laid-back Mediterranean spirit. It feels more like staying in a stylish beach shack than a typical hotel, making it a favourite for travellers who want something unique. Guests spend their days swimming off the rocks, enjoying long lunches at the on-site restaurant or watching the sunset from the terrace. The restaurant and bar are central to the experience, known for fresh seafood and a lively but easygoing mood. With the Calanques National Park nearby and Marseille’s centre a short drive away, Tuba Club works well for those who want coastal living, good food and a relaxed, bohemian stay right by the sea.
Hotel location

This is great
Almost impossibly close to the sea
Built directly into the rocks at Les Goudes, Tuba feels more like a Mediterranean hideaway than a conventional hotel.
Swimming starts right outside
Hotel guests have exclusive access to mattresses on Le Rocher, with the Mediterranean immediately below.
An old diving club with a new life
A former diving club turned tiny boutique hideaway, set on the rocks in the fishing village of Les Goudes at the very edge of Marseille
Dinner is part of the reason to come
The 80-seat restaurant opens directly onto the sea, with two terraces overlooking the calanque.
Bikini takes things upstairs
Tuba's second restaurant serves Mediterranean sharing plates, vermouth and wine in a more casual setting above the water.
The Calanques are on your doorstep
Snorkelling, boat trips and walks into the surrounding Calanques turn Tuba into a particularly good base for days outdoors.
Our take on the stay
What I love about this place is how low-key it keeps luxury, a handful of rooms, good food, the right music and that feeling you get when the only view is the Mediterranean and a few boats.

About the destination
Marseille
Marseille is a Mediterranean port city of colourful neighbourhoods, lively markets, and a rugged coastline dotted with rocky coves and hidden swimming spots. South of the centre, the coast becomes wilder as it approaches the Calanques, with small fishing communities tucked between the cliffs. Tuba Club sits directly above the water in Les Goudes, offering a laid-back base for swimming, seafood, and slow days by the sea.

About the destination
Les Goudes, Marseille
Les Goudes is a tiny seaside village at the very edge of Marseille, where the city gives way to the wild beauty of the Calanques. Its little harbour, rocky coves, and sun-bleached houses create a relaxed, almost island-like atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for swimming, coastal hikes, or long seafood lunches with incredible sea views. Les Goudes feels peaceful, authentic, and wonderfully close to nature while still being part of Marseille.
