Why we picked this hotel
Trees rise through the atrium and greenery continues into pocket gardens and terraces, making the hotel’s public spaces feel more like an indoor landscape than a conventional lobby.
Hotel description
In Copenhagen’s old Latin Quarter, 1 Hotel turns a monumental 1928 building into something unexpectedly green and tactile. Reclaimed timber, rough stone, hand-finished walls and trailing plants soften the architecture throughout, while rooms by Norm Architects bring the same calm indoors with natural materials, Danish craft and just enough greenery to make the city feel momentarily further away. Step outside for the Round Tower, Strøget and Copenhagen’s cafés, or borrow a bike and explore as locals do. Back at the hotel, evenings move between coastal Italian dishes at PÆRE, seasonal cocktails and the lively lobby, while mornings can start with yoga or a proper workout downstairs. It is a large city hotel, but one that makes coming home from Copenhagen feel unusually restorative.
