Why we picked this hotel

Trees rise through the atrium and greenery continues into pocket gardens and terraces, making the hotel’s public spaces feel more like an indoor landscape than a conventional lobby.

Hotel description

In Copenhagen’s old Latin Quarter, 1 Hotel turns a monumental 1928 building into something unexpectedly green and tactile. Reclaimed timber, rough stone, hand-finished walls and trailing plants soften the architecture throughout, while rooms by Norm Architects bring the same calm indoors with natural materials, Danish craft and just enough greenery to make the city feel momentarily further away. Step outside for the Round Tower, Strøget and Copenhagen’s cafés, or borrow a bike and explore as locals do. Back at the hotel, evenings move between coastal Italian dishes at PÆRE, seasonal cocktails and the lively lobby, while mornings can start with yoga or a proper workout downstairs. It is a large city hotel, but one that makes coming home from Copenhagen feel unusually restorative.

Hotel location

This is great

Nature takes over the city hotel
Living greenery, reclaimed materials and natural finishes bring the outdoors into almost every corner.

The location is hard to beat
You’re in the Latin Quarter, with Strøget around four minutes away on foot.

PÆRE is made for long evenings
Handmade pasta, Nordic ingredients and a lively cocktail bar make staying in surprisingly tempting.

The gym goes beyond treadmills
The Field House combines Technogym equipment with personal training and regular fitness and wellness classes.

Sustainability shows up in small details
Filtered-water taps, reclaimed materials and rescued fruit at the Farmstand make the philosophy tangible.

Copenhagen is best explored on two wheels
Bike rentals make it easy to experience the city the way locals do.

Our take on the stay

More than a hotel, this is Copenhagen slowed down, with wellness mornings, seasonal dining, and rooms that breathe with natural light.
