WHY WE PICKED THIS HOTEL

Small in scale but big in personality, 25 rooms and a hidden garden create a rare Paris hotel that feels personal, lived-in, and far from generic.

HOTEL DESCRIPTION

Hôtel Monsieur Aristide is a small, characterful boutique hotel tucked into a cobbled Montmartre street, right between the buzz of Pigalle and the calmer corners of Montmartre hill. It feels like a proper Paris hideaway, with a warm, lived-in style and lots of vintage touches that suit the neighbourhood. Even though you’re close to some of the area’s liveliest spots, the hotel itself stays quiet and cosy once you’re inside. The heart of the place is Café Aristide, the hotel’s restaurant and cocktail bar, which opens onto a leafy hidden garden. It’s the kind of spot where breakfast turns into a slow coffee, and evenings often end with one last drink outside under the lights. Rooms are on the smaller side in a classic Paris way, but they’re thoughtfully done, and the whole place feels personal rather than generic.

Our take on the stay

Eliza

I picked this one for the contrast: buzzing Montmartre outside, quiet garden inside. It’s a genuinely soothing base in one of Paris’s most atmospheric neighbourhoods.

Montmartre

Montmartre is one of Paris’s most romantic and artistic neighbourhoods, full of winding streets, hidden stairways, and sweeping views over the city. Painters’ squares, cosy cafés, and the white dome of Sacré-Cœur give it a village-like charm that feels worlds away from the bustle below. Hôtel Monsieur Aristide sits beautifully within this atmosphere, surrounded by gardens, cafés, and creative energy while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. It’s a perfect base for experiencing Montmartre’s magic at a gentle, unhurried pace.
