HOTEL DESCRIPTION

Pulitzer Amsterdam is an iconic boutique hotel uniquely spread across 25 interlinked 17th and 18th century canal houses in the heart of Amsterdam’s historic Grachtengordel (Canal District). The setting is unmistakably Dutch, with narrow façades, walled courtyards and quiet canal views providing a sense of history and intimacy that you won’t find in a standard city hotel. Rooms and suites range from cosy canal view spaces to larger, design-rich suites with generous seating and luxury bath amenities. The hotel has a lively social heart around its bar, lounges and restaurant, but also plenty of quiet corners nestled in its courtyards and bridges that connect the historic buildings. Its location makes it extremely walkable to Amsterdam’s major attractions, cafés, museums and shopping streets, yet tucked into a network of canals that feel peaceful even in the city centre.

Our take on the stay

Bob

I picked Pulitzer because it feels like the most Amsterdam way to stay, a maze of canal houses, hidden courtyards, and a sense you’re living inside the city rather than just visiting it.

De 9 Straatjes

De 9 Straatjes, or the Nine Streets, are just a 6-minute walk from the Pulitzer Hotel and are a charming cluster of narrow lanes right in the heart of Amsterdam. Tucked between the main canals, the area is known for its independent boutiques, vintage shops, cosy cafés, and local restaurants. It’s perfect for wandering without a plan, discovering small details and hidden gems along the way. De 9 Straatjes capture Amsterdam at its most intimate and characterful.
