April1550 is a small boutique hotel set in a heritage building in the heart of Ljubljana’s Old Town. It feels calm and tucked away, even though you’re only a short stroll from the river and the city’s main squares. The style is simple and warm, with lots of natural materials and a quiet, lived-in feel that suits the building’s age. It’s a stay designed for slowing down. There are only 8 rooms, no TVs, instead there are books everywhere, and a lovely little café vibe downstairs where you can grab great coffee or a glass of wine (and read a book). Breakfast is included and made with local ingredients and in the warmer months you can enjoy it in the little secret garden. Just note that the building is historic, so there’s no lift.
