Why we picked this hotel

There are countless stylish hotels in Madrid, but very few have an idea behind them. Casa de las Artes doesn't just hang art on the walls, it builds the whole stay around it. You wander through a library, watch a film in the private cinema, end the day in a Roman-inspired thermal pool and somehow the hotel becomes part of your cultural itinerary, not just where you sleep.

Hotel description

In Madrid’s Barrio de las Letras, Casa de las Artes sits among streets shaped by writers, painters and performers. Four historic buildings have been joined into a richly layered hotel of terracotta corridors, marble, velvet and theatrical lighting, with spaces dedicated to literature, cinema, music and dance. The artistic theme feels woven into the building rather than added as decoration. Spend the morning between the Prado, Reina Sofía and the old taverns around Plaza de Santa Ana, then return for a film in the private cinema or time in the Roman-inspired wellness area. Evenings belong to cocktails, live music and dinner at Maché. This is a central Madrid base for travellers who want the city’s museums and nightlife close by, but still value a hotel with a world of its own.

Hotel location

This is great

  • A hotel inspired by the seven arts
Set across four historic buildings, Casa de las Artes celebrates art, literature, cinema and design in Madrid's Literary Quarter.

  • An ideal base for exploring Madrid
Walk to the Prado, Reina Sofía, Thyssen-Bornemisza and many of the city's best cafés and restaurants.

  • Spaces designed to linger
Unwind in the indoor thermal pool, browse the library or settle into the private cinema after a day exploring the city.

  • Maché is worth staying in for
Set inside the building's restored former theatre, the restaurant pairs Mediterranean-inspired cooking with striking historic surroundings.

  • Beautiful design at every turn
Historic architecture and carefully curated artwork create one of Madrid's most distinctive new hotel interiors.

  • More than just a place to sleep
Cultural events, communal spaces and thoughtful design make it feel more like a creative home than a traditional hotel.

Our take on the stay

In the heart of Madrid’s literary quarter, Casa de las Artes is a stylish retreat where history, design, and culture come together.
