Historic manor-house setting in the Cotswolds countryside

Great base for walking routes and village hopping

HOTEL DESCRIPTION

Hyll Hotel is a calm countryside retreat set in a historic Cotswolds manor house just outside Chipping Campden. It’s the kind of place made for slowing down, with relaxed, design-led interiors and wide open views of fields and hills. With only 26 rooms, it feels intimate and quiet, more like a country house you have discovered than a busy hotel. Food is a big part of the stay, with an on-site restaurant focused on seasonal cooking and a bar that suits long, unhurried evenings. During the day, it’s all about walks, village exploring and returning to a cosy base that feels restful from the moment you arrive. This is a countryside hotel first and foremost, ideal for anyone craving a proper Cotswolds reset.

This is a hotel where the design does the heavy lifting. The Manor House and courtyard rooms feel intentionally pared back, with proper details like Dyson hairdryers and Grind coffee, plus a restaurant and bar that make it easy to stay put.

HOTEL LOCATION

MORE INFORMATION

This is great

  • A restored 14th-century manor with a quietly bold design overhaul that feels more like a boutique retreat than a traditional country-house hotel

  • The interiors are a standout: dark, calming tones, tactile materials, bespoke furniture and curated art.

  • Rooms are spread between the Manor House and courtyard buildings, so it has that lovely mini-hamlet feel once you’re inside the grounds

  • Proper details where they matter: Naturalmat mattresses, Verden toiletries, Dyson hairdryers, Grind coffee machines, and well-thought-out minibars

  • A restaurant and bar that make staying in feel like the plan, not the fallback

  • Built for switching off: fires, slow mornings, and the kind of atmosphere that makes a walk in the lanes feel like enough
