WHY WE PICKED THIS HOTEL

25hours does playful design better than almost anyone, and this one leans into a summer-by-the-water theme that feels fun, cosy, and very Copenhagen.

HOTEL DESCRIPTION

25hours Hotel Paper Island sits right on the water on Copenhagen’s Paper Island (Christiansholm), with harbour views and an easy walk to Nyhavn and the city centre. It’s playful and full of character, with a laid-back “Scandi summer house” feel that suits the setting. You’re surrounded by the harbour on all sides, so even a quick coffee run feels like a little stroll by the water. The social side is a big part of the stay. Tiger Lily is the main restaurant, with Nomad Day Bar for coffee and daytime hangs, plus bars that make evenings easy without needing to head far. There’s no gym or spa here, but there are bikes to rent, and some rooms even come with a bike included, which is perfect for seeing Copenhagen the local way.

Our take on the stay

Bob

The summer-house design makes so much sense here, it feels like a coastal escape in the middle of the city. You move between harbour swims, food spots, and a rooftop that feels like a local hangout, with the water always shaping the experience.

MORE INFORMATION

This is great

  • A lively, design-forward waterfront hotel on Paper Island (Papirøen / Christiansholm), with Copenhagen’s harbour on one side and the city’s best strolls on the other

  • Interiors lean into a playful “summer-house by the water” feel, so it’s warm and characterful rather than typical Nordic-minimal

  • Great public spaces that actually pull you out of your room: a proper lobby hangout, terraces, and an easy all-day rhythm

  • Strong on-site food and drink, including a destination restaurant and bars that make it feel like part of the neighbourhood
