Wilde Berlin is a 54-key design-led aparthotel on Zimmerstraße, around the corner from Checkpoint Charlie in Mitte. Inspired loosely by Oscar Wilde, the interiors use natural timber, bespoke joinery, artwork and built-in furniture rather than leaning heavily into a literary theme. Studios and one and two-bedroom apartments all have their own kitchens, with larger categories adding proper living and dining space. The appeal is independence without giving up hotel facilities. You can cook in your apartment, work from the dedicated spaces, use the fitness room, have breakfast or dinner at Oscar’s, then walk to many of Berlin’s major historical sights. Apartments sleeping up to six make it particularly practical for families and friends staying for several nights.

Our take on the stay
This is one of those Berlin bases that makes the logistics almost disappear. Checkpoint Charlie is outside, Potsdamer Platz and Gendarmenmarkt are walkable, and you still come home to enough space to cook, work or spread out properly.
