Maison Nalos is a seven-room riad in Marrakech's Medina, pairing Moroccan craft with a distinctly 1970s-inspired interior. Bejmat, tadelakt and local plasterwork sit alongside rounded forms, patterned cement tiles and a palette that moves from beige through ochre to terracotta. Its seven individually designed rooms are compact but comfortable, ranging from 20 to 27 sqm. The story is unusually personal. Owner Colline's parents bought the property as a ruin in 2003, but it remained unfinished for almost 20 years before she took over the project, naming Maison Nalos after an anagram of her son Solan. The finished riad revolves around its pool courtyard and large rooftop, where guests can eat, sunbathe, take yoga or Pilates sessions and retreat from the Medina below.

Moroccan craft meets the 1970s

The courtyard slows everything down
A swimming pool sits at the centre of the patio, with several lounge areas giving you somewhere to disappear between trips into the medina.

Breakfast is served from 08:00 to 10:00, while lunch and dinner can be arranged in the riad’s indoor or outdoor lounges.
Wellness is deliberately low-key
There is no spa, but massages and treatments can be arranged in-room or in a private salon, plus terrace yoga and Pilates.
