Hidden inside Marrakech’s northern Medina, IZZA joins seven old houses into a wonderfully layered 14-room retreat of courtyards, tiled staircases, rooftop terraces and more than 300 contemporary artworks. Local zellige, tadelakt and hand-carved details sit beside pieces of digital and generative art, giving the place a collector’s-house feel rather than the polished sameness of a conventional riad. Come back from the souks for a dip in the courtyard pool, disappear into the hammam, then head upstairs as the heat drops and Noujoum fills for dinner. With a 24-hour gym, rooftop dining, Bill’s Bar and enough hidden corners to keep discovering, IZZA works especially well for travellers who want the hotel itself to become part of the Marrakech experience.
